Some of the many things love is

Day 5 of NaPoWriMo and I have a really busy day today so decided to get down to it early and this is what came out. Yes, love AGAIN. God , we poets are so predictable!

I'm looking forward to a wonderful weekend at the Wenlock Poetry Festival. I'm hosting Open Mic Sessions on Saturday and Sunday.

Have a great weekend yourself

Keep writin' and recitin'

Mark

Some of the Many Things Love Is

Love is the sweetest sick feeling
A catch in the throat when you speak
Love is the blindside that leaves you reeling
It is staring, through glances and peeks

Love is a bonfire’s roaring blaze
It is talking by eyebrows and nods
Love is a song sung sideways
When you should be singing to God

Love is obsession the right side of stalking
An involuntary gasp at first sight
Love is the silence when hearts start talking
Love does her best work at night

Love is counting the kisses on emails
It’s printing them out for your purse
It’s the feeling of wind in your sails
It’s a proposal many times rehearsed

Love is the urge to call after midnight
A delicate balance of crazy and sane
The feeling your soul has turned into a kite
Love is walking her home in the rain

Love is the glow when it’s fifteen below
It’s stopping to kiss in the street
The feeling you feared you never know
Two lives dancing to the same unheard beat

Love is finding a way out of a maze
It’s music from within, without an ipod
Love is a song sung sideways
When you should be singing to God
